Garden Preparation

Getting a garden in top shape for a contest or magazine photo shoot can be a daunting task, especially in Southern Arizona were our peak spring bloom times can be short because of hot weather knocking at the door.

Scott Calhoun knows the ins and outs of preparing a garden for contests and magazine photo shoots. Scott has prepared gardens for photo shoots in Sunset and Horticulture magazines. In addition, Scott’s own garden has been awarded the J.D. DiMeglio “Artistry in Landscaping” award.

Rate: $60 hour plus materials.

Garden Photography

Since the beauty of desert gardens can be fleeting, it’s important to capture the essence of a garden with both pictures and words.

Scott Calhoun can help you document the spirit of your garden with words and photos. If you ask professional garden photographers what the biggest challenge is about working in Arizona, they are sure to talk about the harsh light. Because Scott is located in Tucson, he can react quickly as light conditions become just right.

Rate: $60/hour plus film and processing.
